Arturo Uribe

Director of Bands

Mr. Arturo Uribe studied music education at The University of Texas at El Paso, where he received his Bachelor of Music Education degree in 1991. He is also the recipient of a Master’s Degree in Music Performance, Instrumental Conducting, which he received from UTEP in 2006. He has taught elementary, middle school, and high school band for 30 years, all in the El Paso Independent School District. He is currently the head band director of the award winning Mighty Husky Band at Capt. John L. Chapin High School in Northeast El Paso. Under his direction, the band program has earned numerous UIL Sweepstakes Awards, various local jazz contest awards, and is consistently highly ranked in marching competitions in the area. The band program has grown to include the marching band, two concert bands, two jazz bands, indoor color guard and indoor percussion programs.

 

 

Arturo has judged and worked as a clinician throughout the west Texas and southern New Mexico area, and is currently a member of Texas Bandmasters Association and Texas Music Educators Association. His duties with TMEA include holding the Vice President position for Region 22.

Above all, Mr. Uribe is proudly married to his wonderful wife Sharon, who is currently a counselor at Coronado High School. Together, they have three amazing and beautiful daughters, Kayla, Analina, and Kendall. All three girls are very successful products of EPISD schools and EPISD music programs.
